If you need some expert independent advice about getting back onto — or staying on — the road, you will do yourself a big favour by contacting one of the UK’s Forum of Mobility Centres.
There’s a network of 17 independent organisations covering England, Scotland, Wales and Northern Ireland, who offer tip-top advice on all motoring issues.
if you have a medical condition or are recovering from an accident or injury which might affect your ability to drive, the centres can carry out a professional assessment and advise on the best type of vehicle and adaptations that you may need.
You can attend whichever Centre is the most convenient for you.
Staff can also advise you about getting in and out of a vehicle and loading and transporting a wheelchair or a scooter.
Although independent, the Centres are recognised by other mobility organisations including Motability and the Driver Vehicle Licensing Authority.
