Pupils’ chance to learn to drive in our super Christmas issue!

THE CHRISTMAS issue of All Together NOW! has hit the streets – and disabled youngsters, aged from just 11 to 17, are being given the chance to learn to drive!

Hundreds of young disabled people are learning the basics of driving adapted cars, thanks to the brilliant nationwide Young Driver safety scheme.

More than 57,000 lessons have already been given to young people, including wheelchair-users and those with other autism, Asperger’s Syndrome, profound deafness and visual impairment.

And now THREE young disabled readers of All Together NOW! can WIN a course of lessons in the FREE charity paper’s motoring competition.

All Together NOW! has teamed up with the Young Driver safety organisation to offer disabled youngsters the chance of winning a series of driving lessons.

The lessons, run by Government-approved driving instructors, take place at 15 off-road centres across the country – including North West venues at Bentley Motors, Crewe and Manchester’s Trafford Centre and Lancashire Cricket Club.

The centres offer a realistic driving environment, using traffic signs, junctions, roundabouts and parking zones.

The cars are all automatic SEAT Ibizas, which have been fitted with hand controls and dual controls, courtesy of Autoadapt.

Kim Stanton, marketing director at Young Driver, said: “There is overwhelming evidence that early driving experience cuts accidents among young drivers by 40%, and it is great fun for youngsters.

“Thanks to the generosity of our sponsors – SEAT and Admiral – we are not only the first young driver programme with a network of nationwide venues but, now, the first to accommodate wheelchair users.”

WE HAVE three prizes on offer for young people aged 11-17.

1st prize: Eight 30 minute lessons

2nd prize: Five 30 minute lessons

3rd prize: Two 30 minute lessons

All you have to do to be entered in the draw is answer this question:

What type of cars are used on the Young Driver programme?

Email your entries to competition@alltogethernow.org.uk.

Please include your telephone number and email address, and tell us what you think about All Together NOW!

Closing date: Friday January 25.
