CYCLING fanatic Douglas Silas is a man on a mission – and, like all typical All Together NOW! readers, he’s not letting his own personal health battles get in the way.
Last year, using his stylish recumbent trike, Douglas, who lives with the neurological condition Cerebellar Ataxia, rode across Israel’s Negev desert – 380km in five days. Along the way he raised £40,000 for Norwood, the learning disability charity.
This year he’s already completed the LA Capital to Coast Challenge and London’s 100km Nightride. Next up is a 400km trek across Sri Lanka in October! And if he manages it, Douglas reckons his efforts just might result in Norwood being another £25,000 better off!
