powerboatMAINA SPECIALLY designed powerboat that puts wheelchair users in the driving seat has launched on Cornwall’s coastal waters.

Reaching speeds of over 30mph the Wheelyboat is owned by Mylor Sailability, which provides outdoor waterborne activities for people with impaired mobility and special educational needs.

Andy Beadsley, director of The Wheelyboat Trust, said: “We want as many Wheelyboats throughout the UK as possible, so that no-one with impaired mobility should feel excluded from getting out on the water.”

The Wheelyboat Trust has been funding the design and build of unique disabled access boats for more than 30 years.

The seven different models of Wheelyboats are easy to board via their roll-on, roll-off bow ramps.

Level decks provides access to all of the boat including the helm.
