It’s the wheel deal for boat lovers

wheelyboatMAINWHEEL on up and take a FREE canal boat ride in the heart of the beautiful Cheshire countryside – that’s the offer being made by The Overwater Wheelyboat Project which launches on the Shropshire Union Canal this Saturday.

The 17ft boat, has been specially designed with easy access for people with mobility issues allowing easy roll on/roll off access for wheelchairs.

Rodney Cottrell, chairman of the charity, said: “Boat trips from the marina are extremely popular but inaccessible for anyone who can’t climb into a boat from the jetty.

“This new boat allows us to take those people on two-hour journeys along a lovely stretch of the canal offering fantastic views and no locks!”

Thanks to the extreme generosity of several charitable organisations, local businesses and individuals, the new charity has raised the £30,000 needed to have the boat built along with its special access jetty, the required licensing and immediate running costs.

The launch event will be at the award-winning Overwater Marina, Audlem, near Nantwich, where the wheelyboat will be based.

Anyone interested who would like an invite to the wheelyboat launch event can contact Rodney Cottrell on 01270 811 454 or rodney@kynsal.co.uk
