All Together NOW! scooped the Best Magazine of the Year title at the annual How-Do Media Awards – and received top praise in the national Newspaper Awards
The How Do judging panel, comprising experts from all corners of the North West’s media and marketing industry, were hugely impressed with the way the health and disability publication is bucking the trend in declining circulations – and with its innovative partnerships with public and private sector bodies.
More than 600 people heard about All Together NOW!’s remarkable achievements at a glittering ceremony at Lancashire County Cricket Club’s The Point.
The charity publication, the only one of its kind in the UK, DOUBLED its circulation to 110,000 copies within the past six months – amassing a readership that’s nearing half a million.
Ninety per cent of copies are now being picked up in supermarkets, hospitals and health centres.
And sponsorship packages from the Bank Workers Charity, Liverpool Community College, Merseytravel, The Morgan Foundation, Park Group and United Utilities are helping to sustain and develop the title.
Plans for 2012 include increasing distribution by another 30%, taking it to 140,000 copies (560,000 readers).
Meanwhile, there was national recognition for the charity at the London Hilton, where the Newspaper Awards were taking place.
All Together NOW! was commended in the Niche Newspaper of the Year category alongside long-standing national titles such as Angling Times, The Catholic Herald and The Countryman’s Weekly. First News, the children’s weekly newspaper, won the main award.
The charity’s coordinator and editor, Tom Dowling, said: “This is a fantastic boost. We’ve had some terrific support from so many people – and especially from our sponsors.
“Without their magnificent and ongoing support we simply would not be in this position. I can’t thank them enough.”
