BWC and mental health

Last Friday, we supported World Mental Health Day by highlighting the different services we offer to support people suffering from mental health issues.
With Mind, we have launched a training programme, tailored to the needs of the banking sector, to improve the way banks as employers, manage mental health within their workplaces.
Through this pilot, we are looking to promote a positive culture change within the banking sector, that delivers mutually beneficial returns through supporting employee mental health and wellbeing whilst increasing overall organisational productivity and performance for banks as employers.
We are also working jointly with the wellbeing expert organisation Robertson Cooper, developing a joint proposition service called ‘Bank on Your People’ directed at increasing wellbeing levels within banks.
The Bank on Your People Partnership provides banks with a ‘deep dive’ view of the current wellbeing situation inside the business. Where the bank has previously emphasised physical health, the partnership helps you to balance this off by bringing in support for mental health.
Adding a personal resilience perspective helps to ensure that, as well as the organisational support on offer, employees are in a position to take appropriate levels of responsibility for their own health and wellbeing.
For more information on how we can help with mental health problems read our guides on understanding depression, understanding stress or use our Beating Stress interactive tool which helps you understand stress and by going through the exercises as and when suits you, you will be provided with an action plan tailored to your specific needs. You can also call our free confidential helpline on 0800 0234 834.
