Bank Workers Charity teams up with All Together NOW!

YOUR favourite All Together NOW! paper rolls off the presses this week – with a new sponsor. The Bank Workers Charity, a long established national charity, has teamed up with us to help the thousands of bank workers (past and present) who may now need financial or practical help due to the onset of ill health, disability or other reasons.

Fred Payne, chief executive of the BWC, said: “We think All Together NOW! is brilliant, filling a real social need. We are also extremely impressed at the speed of its growth in the North West.

“The Bank Workers Charity is the occupational benevolent fund for all people working in banking across the UK.

“We want to tell readers all about the wide range of help we can give.

“We will have our own page in every edition of All Together NOW! – highlighting what we do and how we are making a positive difference to people’s lives.

“Our research shows that up to 50,000 people in the banking sector in the UK – 5,000 in the North West – have to cope with multiple issues like work/life balance, financial problems, dealing with caring and health issues.

“We have the funds available to pay for a wide range of information and advice services and grants with a focus on money, housing, caring and wellbeing support, empowering people to improve their situation.

“1.8 million people are connected to banking including those who currently work, pensioners, those who have left banking, often as a result of disability or poor health and their dependants. We spend £2.5 million every year helping about 1,000 people.

“We know that there is much more than we can do, particularly in terms of early intervention to help people when problems arise, rather than leaving it until it’s too late.”

So if you have worked, or are still working, for a bank, then don’t miss your copy of All Together NOW!

We’ve also lined up another superb Christmas competition – with a fantastic Empire hamper, worth £517.50, from Park.

Peter Johnson, founder and Park Group chairman, said: “We are delighted to offer readers another chance to win our top-of-the-range Christmas hamper.”

And there’s more exciting news …

We now have a new and novel way for YOU to help the All Together NOW! charity . . . thanks to the brilliant ‘Giveacar’ scheme set up by Tom Chance.

Readers can now donate their scrap vehicles to help towards the cost of printing and distributing even more copies of your favourite newspaper.

All you have to do is contact Giveacar, tell them that we are your nominated charity, and they will do the rest – from collecting your vehicle and sorting out the cash donation.

All Together NOW! will be available from Wednesday here at the ECHO offices in Old Hall Street, and at all your usual stockists by the end of next week.

You can also help the charity by taking out an annual subscription. For just £12 you will get the next six editions delivered straight to your door.

A subscription would also make a very useful gift for a relative, friend or neighbour.

Cheques, please, to: All Together NOW! The Bradbury Centre, Youens Way, Liverpool L14 2EP
