A LEADING poverty charity is urging people in financial need to check that they are getting their benefit entitlement.

Elizabeth Finn Care wants people in financial need, and those who support them, to visit the charity’s Turn2us website to see if they are missing out on some of the £16.8 billion of welfare benefits that go unclaimed each year.

The Turn2us Benefits Checker provides a step-by-step, guide explaining what benefits people are entitled to and how much they could receive in means-tested benefits.

There are 13.5 million people living below the poverty line in the UK, including 3.9 million children.

Turn2us works in partnership with organisations across the UK, including AdviceUK, Association of Charitable Officers, Citizens Advice, Child Poverty Action Group, Home-Start UK and Money Advice Trust.
